When it comes to the internet, no one sparks as much conversation as Jeffree Star. Whether you’ve been following him since his MySpace days or only know him from his makeup company, Jeffree has always found a way to stay in the spotlight, good or bad. He’s fierce, controversial, and is never sorry for his actions. 

From Myspace Fame to Makeup Mogul — Before Jeffree built a multi-million-dollar beauty brand, he was known online for his neon hair, tattoos, and in-your-face personality on MySpace. In the early 2000s, Jeffree built a cult following by mixing music, makeup, and shock value. He wasn’t afraid to say exactly what he thought, and that confidence helped him stand out during the early days of social media.

After trying out a music career and touring with artists like Blood on the Dance Floor, Jeffree stepped away from singing and turned his attention fully to beauty. In 2014, he launched Jeffree Star Cosmetics, starting with a few liquid lipsticks. The brand exploded almost overnight, becoming one of the most talked-about names in the beauty community. He really showed everyone how iconic he is and how he made a real name for himself during such a popular time on the internet.

The YouTube Takeover- When Jeffree joined YouTube, everything changed. His makeup tutorials, product critiques, and lifestyle videos made him millions of views. Fans loved his honesty; he would actually call out bad products instead of pretending everything was great for brand deals. His bluntness made him seem real to his audience, and it set him apart from other beauty influencers who played it safe.

But of course, with Jeffree Star the drama always follows him.

Jeffree’s career has been filled with moments that made the internet explode. From old racist remarks resurfacing to feuds with other beauty influencers, he’s been “canceled” more times than anyone can count... and yet somehow, he always comes back.

One of his biggest dramas played out during the so-called “Dramageddon” era, when he got caught up in a major beef with other YouTubers like James Charles, Tati Westbrook, and Shane Dawson. Screenshots, apology videos, and cryptic tweets took over the internet for months. Fans either defended Jeffree for being real or accused him of stirring the pot.

Beyond the online fights, Jeffree has also been accused of toxic behavior toward others in the beauty community and even faced serious allegations involving racism and manipulation. He’s addressed some of these over the years, admitting to past mistakes and claiming to have changed, while others still question his sincerity.

One of Jeffree’s biggest recent life changes was leaving behind the flashy Los Angeles influencer lifestyle for something totally unexpected: a yak ranch in Wyoming. Fans were shocked when he traded in his Hollywood mansion for cowboy boots and open fields, but it seemed like a genuine move toward peace and privacy.

He still posts on social media, of course, but his content now feels calmer and more focused on his business, his animals, and his own happiness. He’s still running Jeffree Star Cosmetics and even launched Star Yak Ranch, selling yak meat and other products. It’s definitely a switch-up from makeup palettes, but if anyone can make it work, it’s Jeffree.

Even after all the scandals, it’s hard to deny that Jeffree Star has shaped internet culture. He helped define what it means to be an influencer and proved that they can run successful companies. He’s bold, strategic, and knows exactly how to use controversy to stay in the public eye.

Some people see him as a villain, others as an icon. But no matter what side you’re on, Jeffree’s influence on both beauty and online entertainment is huge. His confidence, creativity, and ability to reinvent himself over and over again keep people talking, and in Jeffree’s world, attention is everything.

Conclusion:

Jeffree Star isn’t for everyone, and he’s definitely made his share of mistakes. I grew up watching him collab with some of my favorite YouTubers. He is funny, real, and relatable. He has gone through a lot growing up, if you dig deeper into his life. Not to excuse his actions, but I think he turned out to be pretty successful after all of that. And I will always remember him and his videos. 

He has built a life on his own terms, and I am sure he has done some healing too. 

Love him or hate him, Jeffree Star knows how to turn drama into power. And honestly? That’s kind of what makes him fascinating. Whether he’s showing off a new makeup line or riding a yak across a Wyoming field, one thing’s for sure: Jeffree Star will always find a way to shine.
